I hope this is the right forum, if not please tell me where to post it. I have an HP DV7 laptop running Linux Mint Rosa 圆4 with Cinnamon. Under win7 I could play certain files through the wifi to my Samsung smart tv but have been unable to work out how to do it with this OS. It allows streaming of media files to a wide range of devices including video game consoles, smart TVs, smartphones, and Blu-ray players. It originated as a fork of PS3 Media Server. I have tried installing Serviio, Rygel and Universal Media Server. Universal Media Server is a DLNA -compliant UPnP media server. The closest I got was having UMS actually find the TV, but wouldn't play to it. Usually I was getting an error message saying the address was already in use. Unfortunately it didn't say which address or how to fix that. I uninstalled all three, reinstalled UMS. This time it suggested I needed to uninstall and reinstall Java. I've uninstalled UMSt again and am at a loss. Under Menu > Programming I have Oracle Java 7 Mission Control and Oracle Java 8 Mission Control. I'm happy to add any other info that will help diagnose this, just tell me what you need and how I find it. Another popular DLNA-compliant server, the Universal Media Server (UMS) was originally forked from the PS3 Media Server project with the intention of expanding its mandate with a slew. Incidentally, I can play to the TV with an HDMI cable. Just can't get it to broadcast through wifi. Oracle Database 10.2, 11.x, 12.x, and 18c are available as a media or FTP request for those customers who own a valid Oracle. Just been reading a bit more of this forum and found that this is usually ~ $ inxi -Fxz Graphics: Card: Advanced Micro Devices RV730/M96 ĭisplay Server: X.Org 1.17.1 drivers: ati, radeon (unloaded: fbdev, vesa) Machine: System: Hewlett-Packard product: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC v: Rev 1
